Queensland Branch members hOld images of children affected by the depleted uranium weapons used in the 1990-91 Gulf War

March 2013 - At the annual Palm Sunday rally, Queensland Branch members held images of children affected by the depleted uranium weapons used in the 1990-91 Gulf War.

The images were from the photo exhibition "Children of the Gulf War".

The exhibition included 58 photos taken by Takashi Morizumi since 1998. Some of these photos appear in the book Children of the Gulf War, with an introduction to the book by Takashi Morizumi.

The images were purchased by WILPF Australia which organised exhibitions throughout Australia from 2003 to 2007, to raise awareness about the effects of war and to facilitate further networking and alliance building among anti-war communities and organisations.

The overall purpose of the Project is to end war and the use of depleted uranium weapons, and for governments to act in the interests of equality, peace and social justice for all peoples at home and abroad.
