FIVE HONOURED AT WILPF TASMANIA’s 94th ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Five long-standing members, whose joint years of membership and service to the community total over 200 years, were honoured with Life Memberships of the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedomm Tasmanian Branch on Thursday 3 March 2016.

Those recognized were Audrey Moore, Peg Walter (both pictured above), Rosemary Brown, Dr. Doreen Shenman and Joy Gough. Each has given hours of extra service as either a member of the executive for many years, or as one of WILPF’s various sub-committees, including the Vietnam, the Aboriginal, the Library Donations, or the War-toys sub-committees.

WILPF has rarely recognised its outstanding members in this way, but considered that these outstanding members should be acknowledged.
